Thermie Niyokwizera is a member of the team of the World Bank-funded Soleil-Nyakiriza project in Burundi as Senior Subsidy Manager in charge of the conceptualization and implementation of the subsidy program to support the development of the production and distribution of clean cooking solutions.
Recently, she worked with GIZ and AVSI as an expert in charge of empowerment and entrepreneurship, marketing and distribution of renewable energies. Previously, Thermie had developed her experience in economic and social strengthening of vulnerable groups with HealthNET TPO under the financing of the World Bank. She has worked for 15 years with CARE International and GLID, which has enabled her to achieve the high level of performance in administrative and financial management, female entrepreneurship, transformative gender, financial education, protection, fight against SGBV, operations management in the field, communication for change. Experience in emergency management and response has also been developed with OXFAM GB, SOS Children’s Village and IRC. Thermie holds a degree in Clinical and Social Psychology with on-the-job training by CARE ACADEMY, Microfinance Opportunities, Master Card Foundation, Clean Cooking Alliance, World Bank, etc.
She is fluent in French, Kirundi and continues to improve her English.
