Senior Investment Manager – Mozambique
Gervásio Mavengue is a Senior Investment Manager at BCP with more than nine years of experience in Mozambique’s off-grid energy sector. In this role, he supports the design and implementation of the +ENERGIA Facility, the national financing platform of the Government of Mozambique for off-grid energy access managed by BCP.
Gervásio holds a degree in Applied Physics and a postgraduate degree in Renewable Energy Science and Technology from Eduardo Mondlane University.
Prior to joining BCP, Gervásio worked with Enabel Mozambique as a seconded expert at the National Fund for Rural Electrification (FUNAE), where he provided technical assistance and capacity building to strengthen private sector participation and develop sustainable mini-grid business models.
He also spent seven years working with the Energising Development (EnDev) and Green People’s Energy for Africa (GBE) programmes implemented by the German development agency GIZ in Mozambique. In these roles, he provided technical advice on programme implementation, market intelligence, and the design and implementation of results-based financing (RBF) mechanisms for the off-grid energy sector, including the FASER facility.
Gervásio is based in Maputo, Mozambique, and is fluent in Portuguese and English.
