Jean Claude Nkezabahizi is part of the team of the World Bank-funded Soleil-Nyakiriza project in Burundi as Senior Subsidy Manager. He is in charge of the conceptualization and implementation of financing via grants which aims to develop the off-grid solar energy access market for providing continuous access to electricity and clean energy to the population of Burundi.
Jean Claude has a Master’s degree in Development Studies (Uganda, Christian University), a University Certificate in Peace and Reconciliation (USA, Colorado State University) and in Project Monitoring and Evaluation (Uganda). He has a solid and diversified experience of more than 16 years acquired with international NGOs and various United Nations agencies as well as with private sector companies in Burundi. His experience spans across various topics, such as fundraising, project development and management, coordination of field activities, and management of community projects with donors as USAID, World Bank, NORAD, UNICEF, WFP and Rotary Foundation. Jean-Claude also has experience as a trainer-consultant in community savings and credit, female and youth entrepreneurship, peace education and sport for development.
He is fluent in Kirundi, Swahili, French and English.
